The TRU-FLAP Floating Gate system prevents backflow and flooding in CSO and SSO systems. With an adjustable crest elevation and low hydraulic resistance, it adapts to varying water levels and ensures efficient flow control.
The TRU-FLAP Floating Gate is designed to prevent flooding and backflow caused by high downstream water levels. It acts as a floating weir with an automatically adjusting crest elevation, making it ideal for CSO, SSO, and overflow systems. The system prevents overloading of sewer systems and treatment plants, reduces pumping costs, and improves wastewater treatment efficiency.
The TRU-FLAP Floating Gate consists of a stainless steel pivoting flap mounted on a weir. In its resting position, the flap hangs down, allowing water to flow over the crest freely. As the downstream water level rises, the flap pivots upwards, establishing a new weir height and preventing backflow into the system. The system’s lightweight design ensures quick responsiveness to small changes in water levels while maintaining structural stability under high downstream pressures.
The TRU-FLAP can also be sealed on all four sides to prevent backflow if the downstream water level exceeds the flap height.
