Walchem EWP-L Metering Pumps Overview

Walchem EWP-L Metering Pumps provide accurate, high-speed chemical dosing for water and wastewater treatment applications. The EWP-L Series replaces the discontinued EZ Series metering pumps while retaining the 360 strokes-per-minute performance of the EZ line. As a result, customers can move to a newer pump platform with improved control, durability, and installation flexibility.

Walchem designed the EWP Series for high-resolution chemical feed. Many slower pumps can create slug feeding, poor feed control, and faster diaphragm wear. In contrast, the EWP-L supports smoother, more consistent chemical dosing for treatment systems.

Dosing Control And Pump Performance

The EWP Series uses a high compression ratio to improve priming and venting. This matters for off-gassing chemicals, including sodium hypochlorite. Therefore, the pump can support more reliable feed performance in demanding chemical dosing applications.

Additionally, the EWP-L offers finer dosing control than comparable EZ models. It provides higher output, greater turndown, better resolution, and stroke length adjustment. These features help operators set feed rates more accurately.

Flexible Integration And Installation

Walchem EWP-L Metering Pumps include standard control options such as 1:1 pulse input, remote stop/start, and fixed 4–20 mA analog control. As a result, the pump can connect more easily with treatment system controls.

The EWP-L also uses the same mounting footprint as the EZ Series, which helps simplify replacement work. Moreover, the optional wall-mount base supports easier installation where space is limited.

Rugged Design And Reliability

The EWP Series features an improved IP66-rated enclosure for stronger resistance to harsh environments. In addition, E-Series pumps use dual bearing support to help maintain proper axial movement and extend diaphragm and mechanical life.

Dual check valve assemblies in the suction and discharge fittings support fast priming and reliable operation. Furthermore, precision ball guides and tapered seats help the valve balls seat properly with every stroke.
