How the SURE-FLAP Check Flap System Works

The SURE-FLAP system operates as a stainless steel swing check flap, mounted on a rectangular concrete opening. In its resting position, the flap hangs vertically, sealing the opening. When the water level rises in the sewer or reservoir, hydrostatic pressure causes the flap to open, allowing water to flow over the weir. If the downstream water level rises, the flap seals tightly against the concrete opening, preventing water from flowing back into the system. Its lightweight design responds quickly to minimal changes in water level while maintaining structural stability under high downstream pressures.
