ZICKERT Shark™ Bottom Sludge Scraper has over 3,000 installations all over the world, 90 percent of which are retrofits. It is designed for continuous sludge transport and performs well in all sedimentation processes, including grit chambers.
Sludge is transported to one end of a basin through the reciprocal motion of a stainless steel grid. On the forward stroke the grid moves slowly, pushing the sludge. The concave design of the face of the scraper profile creates a zone of influence larger than the actual face itself. On the return stroke the grid moves twice as fast and the sloped design of the backside of the scraper profile allows it to slide under the sludge without re-suspending the solids and minimizes the amount of solids moving backwards. The length of the stroke is greater than the distance between profiles to eliminate any dead zones. Configurations: Submerged, rectangular scraper mechanism
