PhytoLinks™ Modular Floating Treatment Wetland System

Provide treatment physically, biochemically, and ecologically

Floating Treatment Wetlands are a floating platform for plants, that can be placed in any water body regardless of depth. The purpose is to provide a stable habitat, which allows plant to extend their roots into contaminated water to improve water quality. Using the same biological principles as a conventional wetland, a floating platform allows wetlands to be applied where is would otherwise be impossible.
Floating wetlands provide treatment physically, biochemically, and ecologically. Physically, the roots trap suspended solids and shade water bodies to discourage the growth of suspended algae. Biochemically, bacterial communities living on the root system degrade contaminants, and remove nutrients by either releasing them into the atmosphere or sequestering within plant/bacterial biomass. Ecologically, the floating wetlands create an ideal habitat for a diversity of plant, animal and microbial life. PhytoLinks™ is an engineered floating treatment wetland system developed by Terrapin Water. Easily scalable and flexible enough to allow for any desired size or layout, PhytoLinks™ is a cost effective solution for management of water quality for a variety of different applications. Key benefits of the system include: Lightweight, durable and easy to install; Modular design; Anchoring system is for increased strength; Quick-attach modules can be reconfigured and/or relocated with minimal effort
